Yellow Birch

One of the tallest of the Birches. Grows in rich moist soils, often wet places. Easy to identify because of the bronzie-to-yellow bark. Twigs are aromatic of wintergreen and a pleasant tasting tea can be made from the tender twigs. The wood is used to make funiture and veneers. Will produce heavy seed crops every couple years. Seedlings are heavily browsed by deer.
